Fishing Delights

The River Nore is one of the Three Sisters rivers of the Barrow, the Nore and the Suir. The Nore flows 87 miles to the sea in Waterford harbour.

Salmon fishing is mostly done in the lower part of the river above Inistioge and below Kilkenny. Trout fishing too is popular and usually best between Thomastown and Durrow.

Most of the fishing is controlled by fishing clubs and by seasonal dates, with permits available locally. Some private fishing tours can be arranged.

A state licence is required on all Irish rivers.
